Can anybody ID this head ?
I got this in a package deal last summer . There were alot of lotus and fiat parts but this head has me thinking. It has no #`s at all not even a logo. The cams look like they took some serious regrounding too. Anybody ? I know its not a alfa spider head cause I have a spider at the shop now and its different.

Kurt,
The spaces are the problem. This might work: Pic... Which makes the first url look like this: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploads/parts%20(11).JPG Don't know how to fix the img tags. Chris. Last edited by ChrisL; 04-20-2003 at 11:59 AM.. |

in the image name on your harddrive, change it to get rid of spaces and parentheses. Then upload.

Is that a head for a Offy? Any other markings or names? How about some more pictures.

Take a look here:

Just a hunch, but it looks like it could be an Abarth cylinder head.
I seem to remember seeing a picture of an Abarth engine at some point in time that had two webers mounted between the cams. The small "lip" on the side away from the exhaust ports should be for the distributor. One thing that sort of points toward an Italian design is the style of cam retainers. They look very much like the camshaft retainers on an Alfa Romeo cylinder head. Good Luck! Fred Cook '80 911SC coupe |

Can you give us an idea of scale? Dia of valves and comb chamber would be good. As would thread pitch, metric SAE or Brit Std?
Coventry perhaps? i agree with the cam holders, but it doesn't have an Italian flair to it. More like utilitarian.

Believe I found the motor. Its an Abarth...
http://www.europeancarweb.com/features/0209ec_twincam/ Very bottom set of photos in the center. Shows the motor with the carbs, intake and tach drive output on the LH cam cover. Joe A

Your the man Joe ! Now what do I do with this head ? I wonder if its worth anything ? Probably not . Do you think it was used in a Fiat ?

I would inspect it to make sure that its in good shape and no cracks etc then advertise it to the historic racing crowd. Bet its worth a lot more than you think if its in good shape. Abarth parts were not made in large numbers for the most part and this one could be rare...
Good luck! Joe
