VDO 10k tach conversion??
Anybody know of a shop (preferably Los Angeles area) that can convert my long owned and treasured VDO 10k silver dot tach from 175 v spike coil type to work with my hpv ignition (12 vdc pulse) And keep it original looking?
I have tried the tach adapters from msd as well as clewett and I don't trust it up at 8000+ on my 2.8 twin plug rsr engine. I have been running other tachs since 1999 and my latest acquisition in 2010 was a speedhut dash mount with rev lights. Works great. But I really want to use my original 10K cause the speed hut doesn't match

Thanks, I should ask..... Has anyone here had a tach converted? Can it be done. I'd hate to ruin it. So I'd really like to hear from someone who had a conversion done and has used it. Any lag? Was it a stepper motor, etc. any details and first hand experience would be greatly appreciated.
And Pete. Ha ha. Nice try. No way in &$@l am I selling it. I've had it since 1984
