Pomona Swap Meet -- Worth Attending?

The Pomona Swap Meet is coming up in a few weeks. I've never been to one. Is it worth attending?

If you've never been, absolutely. IMHO the 'deals' just haven't been the same in the last few years, but there is still plenty of cool stuff to look at, and plenty of great people to meet/see.

Early is an understatement. If you get there after 9:00, you've pretty much missed it. The die-hards get there well before sunrise, or even camp out overnight.

If I were still in So. Cal., I'd suggest a "full moon" pelicanhead party. Get a vendor space and all help. Maybe distributing stuff for Wayne or somebody could get a lot of folks in together! "Owwwwwwwwwwwwww, Owwwww." Moon dogs!
Party starts at 2 am!

Do vendors such as Pelican show up, or is it more of a case of "one man's junk is another man's treasure?"

Tom and Don from pelican are almost always there, Wayne is there at least half the time.
The swap meet is definately worth going to if you haven't been.
For me it is more of a social event than a swap meet, I get a chance to see all my porsche buddies and check out their cars etc.
If you hang out long enough with Glenn (from D&G fame) you will inevitably get offered a beer and a hot dog :-)

Last time I went I picked up a pair of new Scat Pro-car racing seats for $220 a pair (lists at $685 each). I decided not to use them after all and sold them last week for a tidy profit :-)
There are deals there, it depends on what you are looking for. Lots of wheels and interior pieces and body parts for sale.

I think the best deals are in the cars for sale section where it is easy to find a clean early 911 for $6k :-)
