Another wheel/tire thread 951 v. 911
Does anyone have any photos of a 1987-89 Carrera running 7x16 front and 8x16 951 Fuchs? I screwed up and bought 951s instead of 911s and I'm not sure if I will like the look (becaues of the lack of depth of the rim). Was hoping for pics to help me decide.

No pictures, but if you can live with the lip depth, you could add ½" spacers to the rear to give the 951 wheels the same effective offset as the 911 wheels. That way they would fill the rear flares better, the same as the 911 wheels would.

Thanks for the info. I hadn't even thought about the affect of the 951 offset on how the wheels would look in the wheelwell; I was so concerned with the look of the lip depth.

They look like 7s on the outside but have recessed lug nuts holes.

Joe Bob is right. So with 911 16x7s on the front and 951 16x8s on the rear, the lip of all 4 will be the same. I don't think that would bother me, as long as I used the spacers to fill out the flare. But if it will bother you to have the same lip on both ends, you'll either need a pair of 911 16x8 for the rear, or you could go subtle and run either 911 16x6 or 951 16x7 on the front, both of which have the same flat lip look.
