Shorter throws from my G50
I come from a Mustang background (I know I'm gonna get flamed for letting that out)and my '92 modified GT has a Pro 5.0 shifter which enables me to shift very quickly between gears. Can a G50 tranny be modded so that it shifts are nice and short? I kinda feel like I'm shifting a truck when I'm a running through the gears.
I did a search, but only saw upgrades for earlier transmissions..

I believe they shortened the throw when they went from 915 to G50. I have heard someone mention that an '89 speedster had a short throw option, but no where have I ever seen a kit for a G50 tranny.
One note. The G50 tranny probably won't appreciate being shifted fast the way a domestic tranny would. Since these aren't built for drag racing their shift time isn't as important. I suppose you could just cut down the rod to achieve a shorter throw. If you find out anything let me know, I've always been curious myself.

87turbolook911,
My car has the "short shift option" installed as a factory option. It's not worth it. Shifts like rowing a boat. In fact, I think most G50 911's came with the option. Check yours by entering your option numbers on this web page. (Found under the hood on a sticker.) http://www.kindel.com/Porsche/options.asp
