Oldie Muffler
I have an oldie 911 muffler, so-so condition, and I was wondering what it was for and if it has any value.
The P/N is 901.011.09?.01; I think the "?" is a 7, but hard to tell. Tacked on the end of the P/N is "84," which I suppose could be the date of fabrication but the"901" P/N would seem to belie that. The P/N is preceded by some script, which appears to be "Lablatte." It is dual inlet, dual outlet, in the classic "factory sport muffler" configuration, although I'm not sure it started out life that way since there's an obviously plugged place for a single outlet in the end. 1984 Leistritz early replacement muffler. Painted stainless, modified to sport, good ones are worth a few hundred dollars. That seam issue at the center could be of concern as well as what is going on behind it.

I think it might be the standard muffler modded to sport as per the up fixin der Porsche article.

Sounds to me like I have a historical bit of scrap metal. Too bad. It has obviously had the patina aggressively sand blasted off it at some point, not too long before the car began its "hibernation."

I did that modification recently. It performs good, better than stock, and sounds awesome!
