Fan Tension Adjustment Tool

Hello all,

I am needing to adjust the fan belt tension since the belt is slipping during my first try at adjusting the valves myself. I found the alternator adjustment tool very similar to the one mentioned in Wayne's chapter on the job. However, I don't appear to have the same ring on the outside of the fan pulley for the tool to slide into.

I looked at an old Porsche catalog and saw a different design alternator adjustment tool designed specifically for '75-76 911s (PN T52.003.004) that has two teeth that grip onto the outside ring on its axis as opposed to the one that grips onto the edge like Wayne's. I couldn't find this part in the Pelican catalog though.

Any tips for adjusting a '75 911 fan belt tension especially with what tools to use?

Thanks!

Update, I found the wrench that I am talking about under pulley tools under this page: Porsche 911 (1974-1989) - Engine Tools - Page 4

I assume this is what I need?

Seems I need the 74 part not the one listed for 75.

Have you got all the shims or do you not have the tools to loosen/tighten the nut?

I dont have the wrench that holds the fan still while the nut is removed. I ordered what I think I need via Pelican.

I have an original one for 75, you can have it. I don't need it.
