Fuse #17 in an '83 SC Cab?

I've identified a parasitic current draw coming from fuse #17 on my SC that over time discharges my battery. According to the Manual I have fuse #17 controls the following:
  • defogger
  • emergency flashers
  • wipers

Pulling the fuse the emergency flashers do not work but the wipers do. Not sure what "defogger" refers to in a Cabriolet? I hear a clicking coming from under the dash when I power up and down the fuse block. Any idea what all circuits are powered by fuse #17 on an '83 SC Cabriolet?

Thanks

Yea, not all models have a rear window defogger. Branched off that would also be the driver/passenger side and rear window defoggers (if applicable). Windshield defogger is also an option.

I'm looking at a color wiring diagram for '80 & '81. There are only minor differences to '83.

Here's what I see:
- horn relay
- power window relay
- windshield wiper motor
- hazard flasher

Edit: these color wiring diagrams are amazingly helpful. I got it from "Prospero's Garage". It is 2-sided 11x17 laminated. Website is colorwiringdiagrams.com

- "power window relay" -- per my post in your prior thread, does your interior dome light work when your driver's door is open? The driver's door switch controls the power window relay -- it shuts it off when the door's open. If the door switch is not working, the power window relay won't shut off and will cause a parasitic drain.

This could also be the clicking relay you're hearing

Darrin - The interior lights and door switch are working fine so that is not the problem.

It could be an issue with the power window relay? Will need to look up the wiring diagrams.

Thanks!

3 of the 4 things on the list are relays. Disconnect each relay one at a time and note if the drain goes away to further isolate the problem.
