Installing Cayman seats in SC

I'm seeking knowledge from anyone who understands the wiring harnesses under a Porsche Cayman seat. I have a pair in my SC, but I cannot toggle the backrests because there are currently no wires to power them. There are two harnesses under each seat, and I'd like to know which wires power just the backrest motors. I'm not interested in the heated seat function nor the built in air bags.

I had posted this question back a few months ago with no replies. I had searched the web found nothing. So I finally dug in and figured it out without triggering the airbags. See my post “Hard back seats airbag delete”.

Under the seat there is a Yellow connector. If you take it apart you’ll see two small grey connectors and a large back one. The grey connectors are for airbag control. The black one contains heat and seat power connections. There is a “dogleg” to the connector and the spades (pin) are offset. There are red wires to the upper spades and brown (ground) to the lower ones. The red spade in the dogleg is for seat heat. The other one (in the center) is for seat power.

John, this is fantastic! Thank you so much! I didn't think Pelican had an archive for this because nothing came up when I used Google. I will also take a look at your post.

P.S. my seats have a manual height adjustment and electric backrest. Are yours configured the same?

Use the search feature here. Mine also have manual height with electric backrest.

Great info. Any pictures of the 987 seats in your SC?

Thanks!

Here's the car.

Here are the seats. The pictures are poor quality, but you get the idea.
