How to rotate my speedo and tach

Do I just simply rotate them counter clockwise? Or do I have to pull them out, rotate, then reinstall? I didn't want to try it without consulting with all of you first.

Thanks!

Pull them out about 1" and rotate, and push in

The gages are too tight to just rotate. You might need to use a small flat blade screw driver. Gently wedge it between the gage rim and the gasket, use the gage next to it as a leverage point to pry it out a little at a time. Pry small amounts all around the gage until it loosens up enough to pull out. Don't push it all the way back in until you drive the car and get it just where it needs to be for your personal line of sight.

I don't like the screwdriver/putty blade technique - just for fear of slipping and gouging something important.

You can reach in from the trunk and easily pop out one of the left-hand gauges. Then reach in through the holes and press out the gauge you want to rotate.

Looks like this:

I pushed mine all the way out just to make cleaning the dash face easier.

Here's how they look turned:

Good point by RarlyL8 to not push them all the way back in until you are happy with the twist.
