I want to go forced induction, what's the best way

My 911 is a mid year carrera with a G50 gearbox. When I bought the car it had a stock 3.6 conversion installed which I removed to install a high strung naturally aspirated engine and stand alone. I have sold the N/A engine and I have a stock 964 3.6 on the ground waiting. Should I put it in the car as is and go for low boost high compression (like the supercharger kits floating around)? Or should I tear it down and replace the pistons with something closer to 8.5:1 and go with another stand alone? Or should I sell what I've got and go with something that already has the kinks worked out? The car was 300 at the rear wheels naturally aspirated, and I would like to be at least there, or a little more, but more streetable. Not necessarily a "daily driver" but no race gas on the street tune. My poor car... ADD engine swaps have been the story of my ownership. :D

Oops, I meant to put this in the turbo / supercharging section.

Mods, please move?

I removed a supercharger kit from a fairly low mileage 3.2 and found the top end was cooked. Other experienced shop owners with whom I consulted on the job were 100% against the supercharger mod, citing the same reasons I found.

I've yet to see a good Super Charged reliable system for the 911 engines. Reason being you quickly elevate Cyl head temps and as posted early this just cooks things quickly. These are air cooled engines and you really need to pull away the extra heat generated by forced induction. The superchargers also tend to crowed the engine bay more than the turbos do and this crowding results in extra heat in the bay at the top of the motor. Superchargers do get hot.

If you decide on Supercharge route I would not go much more than 5PSI extra boost. Meaning a small scale supercharger, don't get greedy.
