Brake upgrade for sc

Not wanting to go find crappy fake Brembo brakes, but still wanting to save cash and look for some quality takeoff bigger or just better brakes than I already have, What are the options for my car?
I have the 3.5 inch space version of the front end (911s 1977)so my options are more open.
Who can tell me which calipers and rotors will most easily bolt on for improvement in brakeing performance?
I'm looking at maybe boxter, 944s2, 968, 928s4 etc..
I realize I'll need an adapter but really just want good performing brakes but will not spend over about a grand for them so used good or rebuildable brakes.
I run 17 inch fikse wheels.

A grand is going to make it a little tougher to do. Cost will need calipers, rotors, pads, adapters.
Good luck.
I did 996 brakes.
Pm sent

Question is what rotors and calipers for a given setup? Nice car btw

Trackrash 08-15-2014 05:29 PM

Carrera, Turbo, or Boxter might be the most cost effective. Lots of options depending on your budget.

Do you track the car?

quattrorunner 08-15-2014 05:33 PM

I will be tracking on occasion.
I regularly am over 150mph in Mexico. I need to feel like I have something that can haul me back to reality in a hurry.

Maybe Bill Verburg will chime in. He's one of the most knowledgeable on the subject. Think your budget will be tough but if anyone can lead you in the right direction it's him. Good luck

I have the standard Boxster fronts with 3.2 rotors. I can feel a difference but I have not tracked it to assess in anger. I have read the calipers over power the rotors when you get seriously frisky.

If you do want to pull yourself down from 150mph - more than once - I would go with a more balanced and beefier system.

Verburg is the man to listen to.
