Part Identification

I have an 89 Targa. I am reinstalling the engine and have a part that I cannot identify...I cleaned it up a bit and found that it still has cosmoline residue on it. I was thinking it came from somewhere near the oil tank but for the life of me I just cannot remember where it goes. Who can help me to solve this? And...I will need to find a replacement part since the end is cracked off.

Oil tank -> qtr valance -> body support.

Check out PET diagram for you year and model, pretty straightforward.

Cheers

Ok I guess I am not looking at the PET as I don't see that path. I am looking at the 87-89 Katalog downloaded from the Porsche website. Can you help me find it now?

OK I just solved the mystery...I kinda remembered it hung off the tranny. I searched the Katalog and found it. Part # 95030140100. It runs from the tranny over to the exhaust up front near where the cat or cat bypass pipe bolts to the Heat exhanger. When I plugged in the part number into the Pelican parts finder and it is available and only runs about $18. I also found a thread talking about it...

Apparently I dont even need to reinstall it since some folks are saying it really didn't do anything...?? Let me know your thoughts.
