Painting fumes, por 15 etc

after reading all the safety cautions on automotive paints i became spooked about using them. the ingredients will make you sick in the short term and cause long term damage, POR15 is especially nasty as it attacks the liver via the skin.
Suggestions:
Tyvek coveralls that have booties to cover the shoes to keep out the paint that drips on your shoes, into your socks etc.
thick nylon gloves used for stripping, then tape the gloves to the coveralls so that apint cannot drip between them onto your arm and wrist.
a supplied air full hood respirator. 400 bucks but when you are done with it you can always sell it on craigs or ebay for 200.
i used one last week and will never paint without one again
this is the one I bought but my hood is white tyvek.
i only bought a 25' hose which is too small, i picked up a drinking water hose to add to the 25' and it was fine. if you put the pump in a cool area the air that blows into the hood will help to keep you cool.
