Ac delete: what to do with front condsr fan inlet?
 

I made a blanking plate for the front condenser outlet, sealed it with silicone. I dont know what If anything to do with the rounded rectangle shaped opening that served as the fan's intake from behind the bumper. Ideas?

A little off topic but what are the benefits of removing the AC? Mine isn't cold and instead of repairing it I'm think of removing it as well. Thanks, Russell

The benefit: removing around 50 lbs of dead weight in your car.
Dead, especially if it is not working.
Just decide whether you need A/C or not.

I did the same (made a blanking plate) with a piece of aluminum flashing, bent in the vise to match the contour of the front panel near enough. The rubber grommet comes out fairly simply.

The benefits are first reduced weight. Less weight improves acceleration, braking, and cornering all at once.

Next is reduced complexity. Fewer parts in the way, fewer electrical circuits, fewer hoses, fewer places where junk gets trapped. You get easker access to all the parts that remain on the car, too (think cylinders 4-6)!

I shoved a rag in it... Been there for 7(?) years now. :D

If my memory is good, there is a groove on the inner ring of the rubber seal that connected to the fan. I removed the fan and cut a piece or plate that fit into the empty groove on the rubber. Put the rubber back in and it's sealed off. A sock would have been much faster.;)

Aluminum tape to keep the critters out. After the rubber is removed.
