Well I've been stalking this forum for a couple years now and finally decided to join the community! SmileWavy Although I'm still porsche-less it is in the near term.. I'm torn on what to buy as I love rs/rsr replicas and 930 turbos.. With my budget it will probably go towards buying a non-turbo widebody and slowly do a rsr rep!

So now to my question! There is a yellow 1977 widebody (added later) and not original engine on ebay that looks like a great entry level for me as well as great platform for getting my rsr dreams underway. Would I be crazy to buy this and change the color to white, black or silver and change the interior to rs? My thoughts are go for it since it's not an all original car.. I see the EBAY car is sold. It appeared to be pretty nice but you never know.

Whatever 911 you fall for make sure get a proper Pre-Purchase Inspection by a qualified shop.

There are Pelicans all over the world and I'm sure one would take a quick look at a 911 you find before you commit to a PPI.

Welcome. There is a large Porche/Pelican community here in the Denver community. A "77 that is highly modified should be rather inexpensive (relatively speaking) and would be a good basis for a Hotrod if no rust is present. The eBay list price is quite high. Don't know what it went for however.

Thanks for the replies! I saw this afternoon that it sold.. bummer. But I agree the price did seem a little high but it was clean looking. That's great there's a good group of pelicans and Porsche nuts here in Denver, and hopefully I will get a chance to meet up once I get into a 911.

Don't wait to get a 911 before hanging around them if you can. There should be more events and such before winter around Denver and it might give you a chance to look at a variety of cars. Hopefully you might be able to have a seat in a few to experience the differences in seating positions and seats, steering wheels and other hands on only stuff. A ride along would not be impossible either, check it out.
