Talking Thank goodness for this board..

I had some intermittent starting problems with my '87 cabriolet...After browsing in this forum, I figured my answer would be a new DME relay. I went ahead and ordered from Pelican. It arrived on Friday. Saturday morning I go to start the car and it wouldn't start. Popped in the new relay and fired right up! The original relay had 1986 stamped on it.

Thanks to everyone for posting in these forums.

Thanks!

Your's looks great also. Did it take much to adapt the turbo wheels to your car?

Also, where did you get the miniature? I'd love to be able to find one that looks like my car.

Thanks!! These were the wheels that were on our 930 when we got it. I know they have spacers. We did put new 17" tires on though.

As for the miniture....i'll ask my husband where he got it. He always said I would have a porsche by the time "I was 30"...well...30 came & went so he kept buying me little porsches until we could get a "real" drivable one!!

Funny...

Seems like a lot of us had a goal of having a Porsche 911 by the time we were 30. I've always wanted one since I was four and got my first 911 turbo How Wheels.

I've been blessed to be able to have this car three years before my goal at the age of 27. I had a friend search for a while...and finally this came across. Wasn't planning on buying a Porsche this year, but I just couldn't pass up the opportunity.

whether to refinish/polish or get later style rims like Sarah.

Just can't decide....oh yeah money is also a factor

Hey...those look great on your car!!

The previous owner gave us the original wheels & black fuchs so we have those too. But we like the look of the chrome. It really comes down to preference. There are a lot of people who prefer the black.

My husband said he got the mini porsche at a hobby shop. But since you have the "real thing" I guess I don't need to take a digital of it.

Here is my favorite mini (I have it at work so I just took a pic of it)!!

Have a good day!

I know it's not my place to say but..................with a silver car like your, chrome rims are going to ruin the exceptional look your car already exhibits. You know i already suggested for you to keep what you got, but if you just HAVE to update- these would be the ONLY way to go IMO:

Speaking of Models, what is a good source for earlier 911 miniatures (70,71) ? I've found plenty of sources for more recent models.

I just thought I'd chime in with how much I don't like the chrome wheels with that beautiful silver paint. Saty with the black turbos or regular fuchs. I guess I'm just tradtional. I vote no upgrade or change. You have a beauty.

Thanks all...

For your input...I've decided that the best look for my car is with the wheels it already has...what I will do however (when money permits) is to re polish the lips, repaint the centers black and have all of it clear powder coated. Essentially restoring them. This way the look will remain the same without having to constantly polish the lips.
