OT? Grundy Insurance
Is anyone using Grundy Insurance for their cars? They have a collector car policy that covers the collector cars, daily drivers, even motor homes. The policies are agreed value except for the daily drivers and they seem quite nicely priced.
Just wondering if anyone has any experience with them? It looks like they use AIG for their insurance underwriter.

Really? When I checked with them two months ago, they did not even know what "daily driver" meant. Not that I drive mine daily, but their definition was "a trip to the market" would not be permitted. Their rates were great, but I went with Haggerty because they allowed occasional use.
I am curious as to what you found different. Michael

I just got Grundy. Very hard to contact. 15 minute wait to get someone on the phone. I emailed them a question on Tuesday. No response yet. I am hoping I will never need to claim.
On the flip side, they are the only one who accepted me in my situation. Wife doesn't have enough driving experience. Hagerty requires 3 and Leland West wants 9 years. ANPAC won't allow you to bring your car to any timed event. I think I updated another insurance thread. Should be searchable with insurance as keyword, or find my old posts. |

Thanks for the information! Grundy did give some rates on all my vehicles, but if you can't get in touch easily, is it money poorly spent?

My results have always been GREAT !
They know what agreed value is ! never care how many miles per year I drive . Super people. Some one hit my fender, no argument from them , they did what i asked. The car that assaulted me and owners at fault insurance company wanted bondo in the fender and recommended such and such. A simple call to grundy, and all resolved and was well.

I have Grundy insurance for my 964. I can't say anything about their claims service. I hope not have to use them.

It took only 49 years!

I have Grundy for both my p-cars, been with them for almost 4 years. I basically doubled the agreed value on the 72 and raised the 87 by 50%; they didn't ask for anything new, just did it. No mileage limit.

None of them allowed full daily driving (a couple allow like 2 days a week for DD). I'm still looking for an insurance company that allows daily driving with an agreed amount policy.

I have Chubb for both my early 911's.
Great personal service and the rates were lower with increased values than the others. Worth an email jwalker@chubb.com |
