M&K Innards

just picked up a 2in 2out sport M&K muffler and was curious as to the inner baffling and such. somewhat like this of an old school stocker/dansk.

I looked on ben's site and did not see anything of the kind. very happy with the muffler all in all. very nice piece, although ive not started the car since this morning's install..

thanks for what you may have or recall a thread on the topic. "M&K" was not a successful search option here apparently as it did not recognize the phrase.

Search for "mcfarland." Ben is the owner and primary fabricator (or at least he was a number of years ago when I bought mine). Great company and many happy owners here.

Maybe it's proprietary info?

It's only proprietary until someone opens one up and takes a look. Same with the inside of a Dansk 2in/2out sport muffler. Anyone have a pic of the insides? Would like to know.

Nothing new in the world of taming the exhaust note. We use flame tubes and 321 stainless to combine massive weight reduction with noise reduction while retaining that glorious flat six exhaust note. The location of the flame tubes varies according to tailpipe configuration but the basic design is the same.
We are looking into further noise reduction as tracks get more and more restrictive on sound levels.

have not started the car yet with it in place, but expect it to be quieter that the burns cans I removed. hoping for some better low end grunt now with the mixing of exhaust banks & back pressure increase.
