porsche 911 sc 3.0 1983 cis Vacuum leak problem

Hello friends,
I have a problem with a vacuum leak and I need to replace the seals in the connection of the Fuel manifolds ,
Is it possible to dismantle the cis system without removing the engine from the car?
Thank you
Tom

It's not impossible but it is a lot of work. It's been discussed here a number of times. It might be easier for you to do a search of the forum.

valve adjustment and clutch is good,
I want to avoid the pull of the engine,
That's why I asked.
Anyone know a good thread deals dismantling the system without pulling the engine?
thanks

The problem I have at the moment in the car is the engine does not work well and round, he stumbles at the start of driving, as well as the chalk in second gear.
when I accelerate the engine feel better.
I checked the ignition, ignition wires, new spark plugs, new cd, new coil.
New fuel filter.
Usually I fix my own car, I have a technical background but not quite this vehicle.
My vehicle is 1983, and under the passenger seat I have dme unit and relay .
Relay was replaced a few months ago but maybe he screwed up again?
By the way is it can be the dme unit ? How do I check it.
My oxygen sensor disconnected by the previous owner
so I went to the garage yesterday and the mechanic told me I needed to replace fuel manifolds gaskets, rubber tubing .
He says there is a vacuum leak and that is what is causing the problem.
He says ן need to remove the engine to fix it and he asked a lot of money alotttttt .
I'm not sure that's the problem, I want to test myself a few directions, in any case I want to do the repair myself

What year is the car? I recently dropped the engine in my 83. I know it is technically possible to remove the CIS in the car but holy moly I can't imagine trying to do it.

If you're trying to decide which is the bigger pain in the rear, I'd drop the engine every day of the week and twice on Sunday.

First, the unit under your seat isn't a DME unit.
Second, the O2 sensor needs to be working.

You can test the engine for vacuum leaks. It's been discussed here a number of times. Try doing a search.

Before you start chasing your tail, take some time to learn how the CIS system works on your 1983 SC. Then, you might want to check yourself for air leaks, for the correct fuel pressure, etc.

You must've posted while I was typing. I see now it's an '83. I know engine drop sounds bad but it is not bad at all. I had a fellow Pelican come over and help me through the first time. If I can you can.

Fuel manifold doesn't sound quite right. I guess he's talking about the air box gasket.

There is a TON of wisdom on this board. You can get your car running great again. There is so much you can address (triangle of death, etc.) with the engine out and your back will thank you.

Search for "CIS for Dummies". You'll find a thread I started.

the mechanic said it's rubber from manifold to the box and the manifol gasket with the head

You have a beautiful country! I was in Tel Aviv last year on business and I stayed in Herzliya. Really enjoyed my trip.

I will post some pictures when I get home later so you can see.

There is no point in checking the lambda control unit if the oxygen sensor is not connected and working.
