Please tell us that you photo-shopped in the image of the Cayenne!

The rest of the set looks good but that thing just doesn't belong in that grouping.

Definately something wrong with that picture. Hang on... a few of them have decals, like they have been racing? And maybe got muddy? Imagine that.

It's a microcosm of Porsche history: We're racing, we're racing, we're racing, we're building minivans! The fact that that thing doesn't have any stickers and they have the audacity to include it, that's just a kick in the balls.

They sure are trying hard to draw some connection, however vaporous, between the Cayenne and their former racing glory, aren't they?

Seems to me like they're shouting down a well.

I'd actually consider buying a set if that damn Suburban Uh-tack Vehicle wasn't in there.

Ha! . . that song entered my head within a second of seeing that picture.

Even a five year old can see it.

Hell freezes over...

As quoted from Peter DeLorenzo in Autoextremist this week, who has been, IMO, especially insightful on this topic over the last few years:

"for every glowing short-term profit report that will roll in over the next 24 months as all of the swells get their fill of the latest "must have" in the market, and for all the stories canonizing Wendelin Wiedeking as the automotive industry's new "genius" - there will be a painful price to pay.

And that price is that Porsche will no longer occupy that rarified space in the automotive pecking order that it previously only shared with Ferrari. Because Porsche's raison d'etre is no longer exclusively one of building some of the world's most desirable sports cars.

No, Porsche is now a diversified manufacturer of a wide range of vehicles.
Or, in the end, as we like to say it - Porsche is now just another car company.

Rant mode off. I think I'll go check out the new Cayenne forum now!

Tim

Or it will be for sure when the rumored truck version of the Cayenne and the "Golf-sized" mini Porsche arrive. Can a mini-van and a 4-door sedan be far away?

Yeah, Curt; we know what your thinking.
You think 10 years from now you'll have the only set in existance.
. . . your likely right.
All the guys who like the 3 911s won't buy it because the SUV;
and the SUV guys won't want the set of three "what are those; baha-bugs?"
