End of season - car switch

Well the time has come, Morning temperatures are close to freezing, which is less than ideal even with heat, and the summer tires get squirrely as they are cold-hard.
So a final clean and in storage it goes:

Let's tally up the season:
-2500 Kms (1600 miles).
-Driven every single day, to and from work.
-Roof closed for rain, *4* times.
-Breakdowns: none.
-Use of heated seats: for the last month, every morning. backdated heat is so good, I have to turn it down, lest I cook my feet.
-Fun: untold amounts.

For me at least the message is clear: use it dammit! Not one issue has prevented me from enjoying it.

And since I am lucky, here is the winter workhorse, after 6 months' sleep:

Nice! I was contemplating on a high-mileage c4 for a winter car while living up north. Ended up moving to CLT where the targa works well all year around.

I just returned to Florida and unpacked my 09TT from 6 months of storage in my garage. Needless to say, it was quite a difference driving that over my 78SC!

You drove it every single day and only accumulated 1600 miles? That's great that you're taking it to work every day but get that thing out on the highway and get it hot (look up broken head studs).

Very true,
It did however get the occasional longer trip to put some good heat in everything.

BUT, given the circumstances, and facing the choices, I would much rather drive it every day, risks be damned, than leave it parked for weeks on end and commute in beautiful weather in a closed, boring car.

I'll repair whatever happens to it when it comes.

No switch here. Have given the 912E a winter tune up and it drives better than ever. If they salt too much I will run or take my bicycle - the 928 stays in the garage.

Come on springtime!!!
