WTF??? No, you do not need to drop the engine, the darn thing is on top of the engine near the manifold. You can actually reach your arm thru the manifolds and grab it.

I looked at mine...I suspect all you need is the little clip replaced at the bottom of the linkage to hold it in place. Hell some thin gage bailing wire wrapped around it would probably hold indefinitely for a temp fix

I edited my earlier post a couple of days ago to post a link to Jim's (DRACO's) tutorial - maybe you (wpgelb) missed it. Don't be afraid, that's what we're here for :-).

For the cost of the labor you'd pay the guy, there is a heck of a lot of little things you could do while you are in there.
