930 rotors, redux

I've spent some time lately trying to get caught up on all the options for 930 replacement rotors. Since my application will be race-only, my ideal setup - at least until smarter minds (cough Bill cough) show me the better way - would be a slotted, floating rotor.

It seems the only setup out there that fits the bill perfectly is VCI's - gorgeous, but not exactly inexpensive.

The only other options would seem to rely on finding a 12 hole slotted rotor that could pair up with Rebel's 12 hole hat. I haven't come across anything that meets those specs, though.

So, do I:

- Bite the bullet and buy the VCI setup. If so, any experience with rotor life when used with Pagid Blacks or PFC 97/01?

- Use OE drilled rotors paired with Rebel's 12 hole hat for a floating setup ($~900/pair). I haven't had great experience with drilled rotors in the past, but ...

- Move to a non-floating two piece setup from Rennsport ($995/pair), Rebel ($630/pair) or a hybrid Rebel hat/Willwood GT 48 with slotted, curved veins ($400/pair)? If so, which and why?

- Stick with a one piece, drilled rotor and exchange lower cost for more frequent replacement.

For track use slotted floating are what you want to use.

VC1 uses Colman rotors, I have a slightly larger version of thes on my heavily tracked 993, they hold up very well w/ Pagid 29, a friend mated another version of them to 993tt hats w/ Pagid black and was also very happy.

VCI is a copy of the oe floating setup and is(or at least was, I haven't seen any new ones recently) and can use the oe drilled rotors or their own Colman sourced rotors

Oe is was 12bolt, I am unfamiliar w/ their setup but at a guess they are also compatible w/ oe, You might want to check w/ them on that. If so then it comes down to price and availability.

I am getting more then double(closer to triple) the rotor life from the floating Colmans as I did w/ oe 993tt drilled

Coleman will custom make slotted rotors to your spec for about $150 each. So if you have hats and hardware that's probably your least expensive route.
