Which way around transmission mount cup washers
I have the pressed steel type transmission cross mount (not the alloy G50 type).
Which is the correct configuration of the cup washes. One underneath and the other on top. I cant remember if they cup inwards or outwards. Many thanks.

This way is standard )-( this way apparently stiffens the mounts a bit more (-)
How do I know? I read about it on here of course... I even recall some Porsche tech bulitin about the washer orientation as part of a cure for a gear shifting issue, but I can't remember for what models. |

Does anyone have a link to the tech bulletin? I have searched but can't find it.

Can I just undo and reverse the cup washers without upsetting anything? If so, I would like to try, and see if I notice any difference!

The drawing is not a true representation of the washer.
In the "new" configuration only the outer edge of the washer of the would touch the rubber. Oppositely in the "old" configuration only a few mm of the inner hole would touch the rubber. When you look at the CAT its even worse, good luck figuring which way its going... But at the end of the day, these washer are like our Little League Baseball Political Correctness, it does not matter if you win or loose (convex or concave) everybody wins and get a gold medal ![]()
