Does anyone know where to get the undercoating within the enigne compartment in 77-78 911's? Mine has rubbed off and has come major scratches, I would like to reapply if I could just find this stuff. Thanks in advance.

Harbor Freight also sells an undercoating gun that looks suspiciously like the one Wurth sells, but for a lot less money. Might be worth a look.

Wurth SKS Stoneguard #890030 (black), #890031 (grey), #890032 (beige), #890033 (white); $20.50 for a 33.8 oz (1000ml)bottle. One bottle was enough to completely recoat a 911 fuel tank (all sides). Apply with Wurth gun #8911061 or #89110; gun screws right into bottle. I don't know cost of gun as I borrowed one from a friend. Spraying this stuff is messy (like flocking a Christmas tree) but it dries quickly and looks great (very OEM). One must clean the gun right away after use with soap and water. Call Wurth USA, Inc. (Ramsey, NJ) 800/526-5228 to find out which regional office to use, then at that office they'll put in touch with a sales rep. who can set you up an account. Cheers, Jim

Undercoating comes in the two paint varieties, solvent based asphalt type products and water based products.
Those that can be painted over, the latex's such as Wurth stuff mentioned. The spray gun from worth is made with brass parts so it won't rust from the use of water based undercoats. You can paint over these undercoats. The Solvent based untercoats will probably bleed through a coat of paint. You might consider some of the 3M undercoats also. They are available in the better auto parts stores and paint shops. American undercoats have come a long ways in the past decade.
