If you were at Laguna Seca this weekend, here's what you'd see

The US Sports Car Invitational is happening this weekend at Laguna Seca. Here's some photos from today. I've got 2 for 1 coupons for Saturday if you want to go.

Lots of great stuff, come out if you can.

I'll be there tomorrow morning. Parking in the Porsche corral, stop by and say hi. Probably be the only Espresso brown Carrera there.

Bruce,
Nice car pics. I'd love to be there.

BTW, F1/SuperCup races at Indy last weekend, Laguna Seca this weekend. Hmm. Nice travel itinerary. Were you planning to attend the CART race in Miami this weekend too?

Is it safe? (inside dental care joke. Hope it's not too obscure)

Sherwood, I'm glad I'm not at the Miami race, I hear the track is breaking up and they're having a tough time getting many laps in.
Not sure on the safe part, too obscure? Give me a hint.
By the way, I did a stupid thing early this week, drilling a hole for the deco trim on my RS bumpers (a 1/8 inch hole for the rivet), while stabilizing the bumper, the drill bit went through the sheet metal a bit quicker than I thought and continued on through my left index finger. In one side and out the other. Stupid. Did not hurt too much going in, was a real bear reversing the drill and taking the bit out. It's healing well. Can't believe I did it.
So, no, maybe it's not safe

Bruce,
Did you see me cringe as I read about your finger? Sorry to hear it happened. If you do a search on a past thread, several of us had a collective confession to unfortunate garage mishaps. I confessed to a dance with an errant wheel balancing hub that required a few stitches on a lower extremity (no not that one).

My obscure reference was to the movie "Marathon Man" starring Dustin Hoffman, Roy Schieder and Lawrence Olivier as a WWII ex-Nazi dental surgeon, now mild-mannered citizen in N.Y. The phrase "Is it Safe" was a code word that Hoffman didn't know the answer to and paid for it with some root canal work sans local anesthesia. My dentist says it took dentistry back 20 years ... no, 30. Should be required viewing at dental school. No wonder they haven't shown the movie or even mentioned its existence at dental gatherings.

Hope you're past the excrutiating pain part of it.

Sherwood, down now to just the scar. Should have a nice reminder of where the deed was done for years to come.
I try to forget the movie Marathon Man as it did set us back many years. What gets me is that the "Dental Drill" was actually a Dremel tool! Spins up to 5000rpm or so? The real thing hits 400K, not much torque though.
Well, back to the track for another day of great Porsches. I'll post more photos tonight (thanks Wayne!).
