Bead Breaking to Replace Tire Pressure Senders
Has anyone used the $39 Harbor Freight tire changer to break the tire bead off the rim in order to replace the pressure senders??
I ordered the set for the wife’s ’08 from OEWHEELS for $150. Is it as simple as breaking the tire bead in the area of the valve stem/pressure sender, swapping in a new one and re-inflating the tire? I must be missing something…. Never changed anything except a bike tire.

youll no doubt need to break both beads. I hear the bead breaker at tractor supply is way better and as cheap as the harbor freight one. but you can break beads with a few tire irons or even big screwdrivers. then youll have to get one side of the tire off the wheel so you can get the tire out of the way. dont forget to mark the tire vs. the wheel so the balance stays the same. it can be simple or it can be hard. newer wheels are usually pretty easy. just work your way around it to work the tire off evenly.
