Hello Chicago! Meetup Saturday September 20?

Chicago Pelicans,

I know this is a long shot, but how about a meetup somewhere this Saturday, 20 September? My wife and I just moved to Chicago (ORD based pilot) this month and we don't really know anyone here yet. My cars stayed in SoCal so unfortunately I have nothing to show ya. We live in the West Loop but I can meet just about anywhere the 'L' goes.

Technical content: What was the original color of '71 mufflers? Black, dark grey,...?

Cheers!

I will be heading to Rivers Casino this Saturday evening for my birthday. I could and would like to meet others before hand, if possible.

[Post inspired by the pretty 993 Targa parked in front of my hotel here in Calgary today]

There's a Chicago Region PCA early morning Cars and Caffeine gathering at the Labrolia Bakery Cafe at 3021 Butterfield Rd., Oakbrook, IL starting at 8:00 AM on Saturday.
It should be a great turnout, and well worth getting involved with the Chicago Region - they have some event just about every week throughout the summer, and even stay pretty active in the winter as well.

Hope you can make it, but if not, check the Chicago Region PCA website for a list of events. The Winnetka Cars and Coffee events are also great and attract a wide variety of cars every month.

Hey JackStands, thanks for that. I just checked and it's a two hour trip on public transport each way so I don't think I'll make it this time (My cars stayed in LA). I will likely get involved in Chicago PCA at some point. I was well known in SoCal's Orange Coast Region.
Anyone in the city interested in meeting tomorrow then? DWeg1998 are you nearby?

Shoot me a PM with your email and we will add you to a C&C group out in the west burbs, we get together every couple of months typically in Winfield at the Starbucks or at Souk's "barn".

And welcome to the area

Where are you located? We're ten minutes from O'Hare Airport in Park Ridge, and there are plenty of members all over Chicagoland.

Even if you don't have your Porsche here, anyone is able to come by to visit.

There's also an event at the old Meadowdale Raceway in W. Dundee tomorrow if that's closer. It's sponsored by the Meadowdale Raceway Preservation Society, and you can check their website for particulars if interested.

Jack Stands,
Thanks again. I'm near downtown and O'Hare is a reasonable 40 minute ride on the blue line. Getting anywhere else from there is the challenge. I'll check out that meadowdale raceway info for a future date.

Ya, Welcome to the Windy City. Lot's to do around here. There's about 5 o6 tracks within a 4 or 5 hour drive if you're a track junkie, Road America, Autobahn, Blackhawk, Grattan, Putnam Park, Gingerman. Something going on all the time depending on your flavor of Porsche. Some of us even show up to C&C on our bikes if the cars are inop.

Jeff
