Tool Loan Program???
I did a quick search and didn't come up with anything relavent to a tool loan program.
Today, I ground down a 1-1/4 open end wrench to remove the turbo tie rod ends on my dad's 74 coupe - worked great. I could not find a 32mm skinney, (1/4th wide) wrench to do the job, so made one. After I put the rack back together, I seriously doubt that I will ever need that wrench again, so am willing to loan it out to a brother for the cost of freight. I'll box it and ship it, with the understanding that it will be returned, fairly soon :-), along with a check for the cost for me to ship it out. Obviously, if, you need it tomorrow, the fright is going to be high, or if it needs to get shipped, insured, to BF Egypt, the cost will get up there. This can all be negotiated, as needed. Some deposite may be requested for tools of high cost or rarity, and that too can be set up. Items like the ball joint nut tool, some tranny tools, or just about anything could be made available, particularly for items of a likely, one time use. Is there an interest here, or am I running over ground already found infertile. Looking to help a brother, If we could start a sticky, listing the tool available, or the job for which it is necessary, and source location, this might work. perhaps naïve, but optimistic, chris |

Top of many "Damn, I wish I had this" lists:
In every Porsche city, there should be a source to borrow/rent an engine stand to test run an engine. It would include control panel, instruments, wires and correct connectors/adapters, fuel tank/pump, oil tank and lines. An ignition source would have to be determined. I haven't seen many pro shops with a rig like this other than Motormeister ![]() Wide-band sensor system. Fragile electronics would be an issue if accidentally drop-kicked or barbecued. Maybe some future product. Jig for drilling exhaust manifold studs. They're out there now - somewhere. Sherwood |

Chris - I am on motorcycle fourms where members do this. Some include a whole kit of shims for valve adjust. You take the shim you need and add your old one to the kit.
Also, I had a one-time need for a flywheel puller for a motorcycle. Via an internet search, I found a guy that rented you what you needed for a very reasonable price......Worked great for me....G'luck..
