The Grey Beast, 2.0. RSR Reborn.
Hi,
I've just spent the weekend at Coronado Speed Festival, and had a chance to ride in a genuine 2.8 RSR and a 3.0 RSR (not as genuine, but wicked) and it really triggered something: I want to track my car. And man...do carbs sound fantastic when driven in anger. For those of you that don't know the car, this is it, based on an 69 911: (my buddy Wes posing with it) http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1411446783.jpg Now, I'm looking to make it look and feel more like a real RSR. It's not TERRIBLY far off, but I will be chipping away at it's authenticity, to the extent of my checkbook. Here's my current build list: Engine/Mechanicals Weber or PMO 46mm Carbs Early “S” profile or GE 60 Cams Front Mounted Oil Cooler Correct Thermostat and Oil Sender External Oil Lines Wevo Shifter Safety Bolt In Roll Cage HANS Device Harnesses Front Headlight straps Fuel Cell Helmet Race Suit Interior Radio Block off plate Shift Light clock (or Heuer Face) Chrome Bezels Repaint Dash Face and Doors Satin Black RSR Door Panels Exterior Windshield and Rear Window Straps Lexan Glass? Rear Reflectors Hood Tie Down Straps Center Fill Fuel 15 X 9-11 Wheels Avon R Compound Tires Ideally I'd like to be able to track it in PCA and Vintage Races. Let me know if you see anything odd or out of place. I'm completely lost with the carbs/cam thing, but I'd love some advice. Thanks for checking it out. mto |
