Just got back from Laguna last night, took the long way home. Lots of good racing and alot of nice cars. The PCA groups put on some good racing with all the cup cars and turbos. Now they all head to Sears Point in 2 weeks.
And those karts! Sunday afternoon they were turning 1:24's. |

Sam,
I see you are interested in 73 RS, did you see the RS in our camp? Blue and white? This was the first time the owner compteted in wheel to wheel racing in this car, the first RS ever sold. He had a blast. This was the US Sports Car Invitational. Historic GTP, Historic GT, Klub Kart, and PCA Racing groups. A very good turnout for Porsche enthusiasts. Great pics, Sam! Makes me feel like I'm there, walking thru the pits (except I have to make my own engine noises here at the computer!)
Richard is going wheel to wheel now with his RS, Laura? I first saw his car at an EVOC event in 1999. I wrote a story about that event for my region newsletter, and have put it on my website at http://members.rennlist.com/tweedt/evoc.htm If I had his car, I'm afraid I would be too worried about hurting it, and would probably keep it in a giant ziplock bag in my garage and only take it out on sunny Sundays. More power to him for using it like it was intended!

Anybody have an idea as to how much 962s are going for these days? I couldn't imagine them being more than half a million. In the far distant future I'd like to buy one and convert it for mild street use (I know everyone's falling out of their chair laughing, it's just always been a dream of mine ever since I first saw the Dauer cars). So, any idea on their price?
later, amir btw, nice pics sam.

This is kinda perverse, but there appear to be more 962s for sale than good, clean early 911S'. Hohoho.
Try: http://962.com http://www.gunnarracing.com/sale/ (how can they have 3 of them? While you're there, check out the "Projects" too - coolest resto site on the web IMHO) Or I just search for "Porsche 962 sale" on Google. Got distracted - and kept searching. I've been here. I was visiting LA and spied purdy Porsches so had to stop and look: http://www.heritageclassics.com/porsche.html They had most of the same race cars then too (almost 2 years ago).

Or. This guy:
http://www3.telus.net/962/ Unfortunately you missed his chance - he is bored with hand building 962 replicas in his spare time and is moving onto 904s. What a shame.
