'73 911E front rotor question

i'm about to begin a front brake job on my '73 911E. i will be replacing pads, turning the rotors, and bleeding the brakes to replace the fluid.

i read the shop manual (imagine that !!) and found that the min/max front rotor thickness is 18mm/20mm. my front rotors are now at 19mm and have a few minor ridges in them.

two questions:

1). what is the likelyhood that more than 1mm will have to be removed from the rotors when they are turned?

2). should i turn them and put new pads in, or should i splurge now and replace the rotors?

3). what brake pads are recommended for 90% street, 10% track use?

I doubt that turning the rotors would take off as much as a milimeter, so I would imagine it would be OK to have them turned. But, you will have to replace them next time around. However, new rotors aren't that expensive & if you're inclined to replace those you have now, that would be a good idea too. It's about 6 on way & half a dozen the other. Somebody else can comment on the pads.

Buy new ones. I turned my present rotors at a similar level of wear and they lasted about 3 months before warping again. for the cost and hassle I'd go for new next time. Still stop ok though.

I second that,

Just buy replacement rotors, overall with new pads, you will have the best results. I did the entire job myself 3 years ago, it's quite simple.
