915 Shift Leaver Thread Pattern

I'm working on designing a new shift knob for my SC and wonder is anyone would knows the thread pattern for the 915 shift leaver.

The 915 shift knob is held in place with a friction fit.

There is a crush sleeve inside the knob that is compressed as the knob is tapped in place.

Most aftermarket knobs use set screws through a collar to hold on the knob.

Interesting, I never considered that. Do you know if this is the same for the Wevo shift lever?

Don't know about the Wevo.

The later G-50 boxes do use a threaded type shifter. Screw beneath a cap.

WEVO has an Allen headed bolt. Access thru a hole on top. 4mm.

Obviously, you have yet to remove (or try to remove) the factory shift knob.

In most cases, the fit of the knob and crush ring pretty much results in destroying or seriously marring the knob upon removal anyway.

Measure the OD of the lever right below the knob to get a good idea of the hole size of the knob you're going to create. For best knob longevity, I suggest using an alternate method of attaching it to the lever (e.g. Momo uses set screws hidden under a thin threaded collar).

If a threaded knob is desired, install a stud in the hollow lever tube with epoxy, cut internal threads or attach with a top side set screw ala G50 style.
