Rear fender alignment

I apologize in advance if this topic has already been covered. I am looking to remove my Carrera flared narrow body car in favor of the originals. When aligning the fenders with the body do the torsion bar holes align with the torsion bar covers? Would it be a good idea to use them as a guide? Any and all input would be helpful.

we are doing this also,
it is a very difficult alignment task.
you need to take about 1000 measurements.
i would recommend finding another car that you could measure from

Are you replacing the whole quarter panel? I am simply(or not) replacing the flares.

flares

we have 2 almost full rear targa quarters and it is not easy.

just the flares

we are only replacing the sc flares. These were lap welded so we can trace the edge of the flare. What we found is that they are not a simple curve they have compound curves and are not symmetrical which makes just buying (if they sell them) stock flares and welding them on as impossible.
We opted to pick up rear quarter panels that have enough material to make sure that we replicate the stock curves.
we also have a 75 to measure from which has the same flare (so i understand).
the problem is in the area a few inches below the window line which may be more pronounced on a targa but i do not know.

if you can find a set of flares that were removed by someone who put on sc flares you may be able to weld them in, if you cant find them (we tried) then you will have to get larger pieces of the rear quarters .

I see..I have the cut offs from a coupe that was converted into an sc flared car. I will report back once I get to aligning the darn thing. I guess the ultimate question was if the torsion bar covers could be used to align the fenders (cover to hole).
