Windshield install - parts needed

My 71 coupe roller came without a windshield, so no trim or rubber seal either. I ordered the seal and the chrome trim last week from PP and got a couple emails today that the trim is only available in Germany and there is a surcharge due to overseas shipping (OK), but the second email said the Genuine seal is out of stock with unknown date of availability. I need some advice on what to do next.

TIA,

Tom

Did you just try some domestic window rubber? I don't think thats specific to porsche. Likely many window rubber trims work just fine.

The wisdom on PP is that the genuine Porsche seal fits well and is worth the money. The URO seal is a pain to install and not recommended. I'm looking for advice as to where I might find a genuine Porsche seal or someone that's had specific experience with another brand of seal that worked well.

Thanks,

Tom

Pelican is AWESOME!

I got a call from Glenn just now about the windshield seal being unavailable. He helped me go through the other possibilities and said the $52 OEM seal is as good as the Genuine Porsche seal! He also helped me with finding trim so that we didn't have to order from Germany! Yes!! Problem Solved!
