Thank goodness I don't pay retail.

Remember the part where I traded a Targa for a set of brakes? Yep.

That is an awesome set of pictures. Thank you very much. I google and google and goodle and never found them. Seen lots of dirt and rust and other unspeakable things.....didn't see that. Thank you!!

Made a quick run down to Einmalig this morning to swap out some old suspension fasteners for some with new yellow zinc, and upon returning to my office I find UPS has delivered more stuff.

Progress is slow due to budgetary constraints imposed by my parasitic children..... ....but it's progress none the less.

The old girl still has it in her. Bump steer is gone but the LSD is working just fine.

This is what putting her on a diet will get you: (yes, I was going the other direction when I did that. Off-camber, uphill/right-hander. Can leave tracks until the cows come home or she hit the rev limiter...)

OK, who is gonna be the first to laugh at me for the bad parts that are piling up?

Sebro doesn't seem to know how to pack rotors in a box and the T-nuts I got are too fat.

Will be putting in another call to Clint and asking him for the T-nuts this time. Guess I should have done that the first time. My bad.

Now, if anyone knows where to get the T-nuts used in the thread linked below, please, please, please let me know. I know it is supposed to be hard and insiders hold info close to the chest, but if you could help a brother out...

Now THESE Should Stop Us

Coleman? VCI sources some of their stuff like rotors & hardware from Coleman. So maybe that's where they get the T-locks?

T-Lock, Floating Rotor Mount

Measure your slots to be certain?

Dude, you are a genius. Where were you a week ago? Just got off the phone with VCI and the guy said "call Coleman Machine in Wisconsin." After a bit of Google I guessed it may be Coleman Racing. BINGO. Just clicked on the thread to update and delete all the bad info.

T-Lock, Floating Rotor Mount

...and ya, I do recall someone did mention Coleman somewhere in relation to rotors, but I must have not checked it out.

A week ago you were already on the march acquiring the floater hardware from other sources. How was I to know the ones you were looking to buy didn't fit the rotors?

LOL. You are supposed to know what I am thinking, before I think it.

And for the record, I'm going with the Zimmerman's up front. I was not impressed with the Sebro....but then again, I have been a corrugated/poly bag salesman for more than 20 years, so don't send me something that looks like it was packed by a three year old.

Ho man you gotta be careful saying stuff like that. You sound like my wife!

Sorry to hear about the Sebros. I have a set of the 930 Sebro rears I bought earlier this year and they're a nice rotor. But they did come in just a plain cardboard box. I do believe they've got a corrosion spray on them for shelf life protection. But I don't think they're painted anywhere. I'll take a look when I get home.

Seems pretty common for rotors to come "bare" in the box since they're so heavy, the packing know-it-alls must figure that most any packing materials will get mauled by the heavy rotor? Dunno.........

That's the thing. The rotor is so heavy that the box needs to fit snugly on the rotor. This thing came packed in a box that was at least an inch to tall. It looked like it was a box for a rear rotor. The void was filled with random layers of scrap, hand cut, double and single wall sheets, cut from used boxes. Some had old labels on them. If that wasn't bad enough, it was packed in a master shipper that was at least 8 inches too deep. Someone in shipping thought that AirCap pillows was going to work. Needless to say, it wasn't Pelican.

Sorry, just venting.

Hey, any chance my old calipers, drilled zimmerman rotors, and hubs/bearings would be worth anything? rotors and bearings have 8,000 street miles on them tops. The calipers still have great CAD on them. what are they worth? Should I post them up in the market when the time comes?

Carrera calipers & rotors are worth decent money. Often times SC owners like to use Carrera front calipers and rotors if they track their cars.

You got new hubs? Yeah the used hubs, especially yours with the bearing race reliefs which allow the races to be knocked out more easily, are worth good money. New "narrowbody" hubs are said to be NLA. The extended 930 hubs are still available and $350-$400 each new So I suspect you could get around that much for your pair?

That looks fantastic. Nice job!

If those big washers bother you, maybe use some M6 jet nuts instead?

I'm not sure if I really need the washers on this side. They are a bit wide.

The hats and Tlocks were made for 1/4" fasteners so I went with 1/4"-20 x 1" grade 8 cap screw with this first mach up. Thinking that if I can get a safety wire drill jig for a reasonable price, I'll go with 1-1/4" cap screws and drill them for wire. It's a street car, so I don't really think that step is mandatory.

OK then get "English" jet nuts that are 1/4-28 size

https://www.pegasusautoracing.com/productselection.asp?Product=MS21042

Get some bolts already drilled in 1/4-28 size
