Wow - thanks!

The more pictures that loaded the more I became green with envy (hohoho)!

Memo to PP BBS.

If there is anyone who doesn't get excited looking at that engine, please form a line to the "Early engines are the best" re-education room.

I am prepared to accept only the excuses "but I like it when I can't see the engine for the intercooler" and "but I want an engine with a flat fan".

Mmmkay.

The Penske-Sunoco livery RSR was pretty cool as well. Too bad he retired from the race, hope it wasn't anything serious.

An interesting paint job, this guy won one of the PCA club races:

But only after a no-BS, VERY fast turbo 1969 911 broke. I took a lot of film pics of this car, belching flame going into turn 10, but this is the only one on the digicam, looks like he scrounged his turbo from a Kenworth wrecking yard. Yes, the oil spot on the ground is dripping from the exhaust pipe:

Shell 962, one of these had Mario Andretti's name on the door:

There were 2 Nissan prototypes there, both retired early from the vintage endurance race.

Dash of a Nissan:

First time I've seen one of these in the flesh:

I'll post more when I get my film back.

sam,
i nominate you for the official pelican-early911-rgruppe-sports-purpose-vintage-racers-photographer. i was just cking out the #33 '69 on klubsprotracing.com and was irritated by the poor picture quality. then i come here to find excellent pics. great job sam! that plain wheel finish is growing on me.
