3.2 idle issues
I haven't started my car in two months due to international travel. I noticed the battery was dead so I charged it all night with the trickle charger. The car starts fine but only idles for 5 secs and dies. If I press on the gas, it revs and then dies. I can hear the fuel pump so I know that is working. It also has plenty of fuel in the tank. Any suggestions?

I did a search on this subject and I cannot find an example that applies to my case. My engine has <100 miles on it and every component has been replaced. Anyone have a clue?

Just a guess, but I see you live in Florida. Perhaps over the two months you have some electrical contact corrison, especially at the DME relay. Unplug and replug the relay, other connectors in the engine bay?

It sounds like a fuel related issue.
Sitting in Florida for two months could have created condensation inside the fuel tank, therefore you could have water in your fuel. You might also try changing the fuel filter; could be clogged. Don also has a great idea about checking your DME relay. Good luck. Bruce |
I replaced the filter tonight but I believe both batteries are shot. I have been letting them die over time and then recharge them. I had the trickle charger on them but they don't have the amps anymore to start. I wonder if the batteries are adding to my stalling issue?
