Just ordered RSR flares from Uk.

So I just got off the phone from ordering my steel RSR flares from Mark @ RS 911. Pretty excited about getting these into my hand. Been a long time coming. Hopefully this time next week Ill have them mocked up my 86 and move on with the project. Just have to finish the front latch panel backdate and the body work should be done. Pics to follow of the progress from the last few months ... eventually.

Flare Arrival!!!!!

Flares arrived. Look great except looks like FedEx might have bent mishandled the package at some point. Nothing major ... just a little off. Oh well .. what can you do.

So here are the pics ...

Should be taped to the car tmrw. for a much better pic.

Looks very similar to my ST flares I had made locally. What did they cost if you do not mind me asking?

So the fit for the flare is pretty good. I need to finesse the rear flare a bit as I think when they were shipped it was mishandled. Have the rears cleco'd on. Waiting for the bumpers to align everything again before I cut them. Ended up ordering from TRE a 11inch rear rsr and a front 9inch S bumper. The thread about the measurements for how align is spot on ...

welding flares, longhood RSR, alignment questions.

I got them hung and they look great. There is a diff of about 5 mm fore and aft but Im not sweating it until the bumpers arrive and I can see what needs to be tweaked. T bars holes align and the new flares align pretty much right on with the old flare. Pics to come .... my Iphone died in the heat of the shop yesterday.

Flares hung ... sorta

So here are the pics of the flares well 3 outta 4 on the car. Waiting for the bumpers to check fitment before I weld them. Still have to six the rust in the drivers side front fender and then refit before the flare is put on. Some of the pics suck and I cant get them to rotate around.

Looks great! But now with those big honkin' flares, you'll need to buy some big honkin' wheels and tires. LOL!

Thanks. Ill have to test fit the new much wider wheels. Haven't decided on 16s or 17s yet. Ill test fit wheels before welding too. I love these panels holders I picked up for ****s and giggles. There called Clecos. About a $1 a pop but I can fit, remove, finesse, and rehang the panel in minutes. They have some decent spring pressure on them too ... about 30 pounds. I'm looking forward to the bumpers coming soon.

Hey Scott. Thanks I needed a little kick to update. Ive been busy getting my wheels together and fixing the rest of the rust repair on the drivers side fender. Finally got the passenger side fender to door gap about right. The blaster warped the fender when he was stripping it. Lessons learned. Flares are in place and look right with the tires. I need to cut the rear bumper and refit it since these flares seen to be slightly wider in the rear then the turbo flares. Just need to weld them up. Sometime this week I suppose. Also moved into a smaller garage closer to me so that Im not driving 75 miles to work on the car. So that has kept me busy not working on the car. But a 5 min drive is so easier on the sanity.

And a new arrival this morning ...

So I have 2 choices ..... Cram this into my Mini Cooper and drive 2 miles or walk 2 miles through the ghetto to drop this off at my shop, lol.

And a few shots of the Mich TBs on my 15 inch braids. I think next go around Ill be using 18/60s on the fronts and keep the rears as 26/61s. 29s will probably fit in the front but the fronts are big at 23/62. Ehh ... I guess this is a good problem.

Thanks. I was hesitant to stretch that tire on a 9 inch rim but seems everyone does it. Next time I guess lol.

I noticed in your second post, picture 3, that the flares seem flatter across the top unlike the turbo flares, but later on they do not seem as flat. Was picture 3 just a camera angle difference (compared to the installed pictures?)

Thanks
Wayne

Wayne ....

The first couple post in this thread the flares were not aligned correctly. I have then on in a ballpark area to see what they would look like. Ill have to post some pics of them aligned correctly. Hopefully they will be pics of them welded on. They are def rounder then turbo flares. The front of the flare also tucks in alot more around the tbar hole.
