caliper
The calipers on this 67 911 are "frozen". The brakes are locked. How hard is it to rebuild the calipers with a kit? And it seems to mee that all lines shouls be replaced, correct? Thanks.

Yes, lines as well. Not hard to rebuild at all, just time and patience. If you are running alloy calipers there may be a difference in what you read and how you should handle them.
You should also consider new pads, rotors, front wheel bearings. Also, since you have them off, any suspension and any shaft work you had intended to do while you have these off. John

Since they are frozen, be sure to inspect very carefully the caliper bores and the pistons. Minor corrosion can be cleaned up. Major may require new bits.

On my "S" calipers there is a small amount of discolouring on the bores.
If I feel very carefully, I think I can sense a little pitting. So...I'm planning on sleeving the bores with bronze...and turning down the pistons very slightly...and then boring and reaming the bores to fit precisely. Hope it works...trying to save some $$. Bob

Bob, you may want to consider flipping the calipers.
On mine I notice the pistons bores had pitting on the bearing surfaces, from aposing the braking force (the pistons seem to crowbar a bit in operation) Because the bore surfaces opposite were in great shape & the S-caliper bodies are symetrical, everything can be flipped. You swap the the lines, and put the bleeder valves where the cross-over lines were. So far, so good, on mine.

Pitting of the caliper bores is not a significant problem on Ate calipers. If, however, the hard-chrome plating of the pistons is damaged, and the pistons are pitted on the 'working surface' of the piston -- where the seal rides ... either piston or caliper will have to be replaced!
