Why would you do this, exactly? It's not bolt-up for sure...all the front subframe garbage is set-up for 4wd, attachment points are all different, oh wow nevermind I just started thinking about shock towers. Why would you do this, exactly??? Not to mention using suspension components from a heavily damaged vehicle is questionable practice. Son, set the wrench down and step away from the wrecked turbo...

the suspension is straight, i had a porsche mechanic check it out, i have the boge self leveling suspension in my car, they dont make parts (ie shocks) for it so it has to go, if i have to change the suspension (front) you cant do better, i relize that they are completely different, but how much would it entail if you deleted the 4wd and psm?

I think you are headed into FrankenPorsche world..... don't go there, as the current generation would say..
I am sure there are at least 10 or more expensive complications to this transfer... better to get an early set of spindles, some t bars and shocks and go back to the realm of the era.... or maybe just some coilovers.in place of those Boge monsters... ![]()

I just noticed you're in Chapel Hill. I may have a complete front suspension for you that's bolt-up. I don't think slicing up and welding the entire front end of your 71 is the route you really want, but I'm no one to judge. So if you go that route, congrats, post lots of pictures. If you don't, email me.

The front suspension on the 911 is still a good design even today. The 996 front suspension is still basically the same design (transverse control arm aka A-arm) but with coilovers instead of torsion bars. You could add coilovers to your suspension for more possibilities.
The rear is the part that can probably use the most improvement. The 993 and 996 rear ends are completely different than the 911. They are multi-link as opposed to trailng arm. They are more accurate under hard cornering and even adjust the toe in under hard cornering to keep the rear end of the car behind you. To go to that kind of trouble for the front and not the rear doesn't make sense. Especially when it's questionable if it would be any better. Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the only difference between the hydropnuematic suspension and the regular one is just the strut? Why not just change out the struts?
