What's the most you would for an '84 911 in the color you like with 20,000 miles on it? You read that correctly, 20,000 miles. Never seen rain. Interior still smells new. Well maintained.
Assume it passes PPI.

$1 more than the next highest bidder.

Market is pretty soft today, so you are, so to speak, in the driver's seat. Here's where it depends for me. If you are looking for a perfectly preserved museum piece, which in turn you will also preserve, then price is not an issue. If you are going to drive it, then the value of a low mile versus a higher mile but well-maintained car comes into play. 20K miles means just over 1,000 miles per year, or 20 miles per week. A car can fall into poor repair as much through lack of use than from too much use. Rubber, seals, etc. dry out. Was it stored for a long period, or driven regularly? One of the benefits of 90K+ miles is there should be a new clutch, brakes and most of the gremlins have been worked out.

All this being said, if a PPI shows it clean, I'd be looking to see what other mid-80's 915 Carreras have been going for and pay a 10-20% premium for low miles. I'm guessing this will be in the $16K-18K range.

This fellow is awfully meticulous. He stored it in cold climate in the winter, and didn't drive it again until the Spring. When Spring came he would tow it to his shop to have them replace all of the fluids prior to cranking her back up again... every year....

I don't know if this is the correct storage approach, but it sounds like a lot of effort.

Take a look at my post today "Sea Dweller's Car" for comparison.
Its an 85 with 28K miles, museum quality.
PM myself or Sea Dweller if you want to discuss.
