1985 3.2 Carrera electrical issue
I'm posting this in the hopes that someone tells me what the problem is before I spend hours farting around pulling the doors and seats apart on my 1985 Carrera Coupe.
The car has a brand new battery and all the grounds have been either checked (good) or replaced. If I hold a trouble light between the ground wire and the negative pole of the battery (disconnected), I get a light when fuse #1 has a fuse in it. I removed all the fuses and replaced them one at a time checking the same way to find the offending fuse circuit. The car has boxster seats in it, but all the wires look to be connected properly. So what do you think it is, a bad window switch in one of the doors (all the power windows work fine) or is it a problem with the heated seats? Thanks for your opinion, Erik. |

Okay..I'll take a shot..the power windows have a courtesy function.. if you remove the key and don't open the door(s) you can raise the power window(s) prior to exiting the car.
The power window relay, window switches or the door lamp switches..worth checking. |

Is your dome light door switch working properly? If not, there is relay that will keep the power window switch energized.
db - you beat me to it

The dome lights are both working properly....though the passenger side needed some love, it works every time now.
Thanks for the responses....I'll look into the areas that you mentioned! |
