Another Introduction Thread

I've been been lurking the forums and periodically asking questions for some a while now. I finally acquired a 911 that I can call my own.
1983 911SC Coupe in Ruby Red (confirmed)
The car is high mileage but the motor was rebuilt 4 years ago. Mechanically the steering has some play at higher speeds(85-90mph) and as most of them it drips some oil. It has SSI's with single out Monty muffler and xDI ignition system.
The exterior of the car is in good shape and it was repainted at some point in it's life. Stock Fuchs with Falken rubber.
The interior is in ok condition. The dash board is cracked, vent controllers have seen better days and the stereo needs to be rewired.
I can't wait to enjoy this thing!!
Serial Number: 1917

That's a great looking car but I call it Garnet Red Metallic. I hope you enjoy yours as much as I am enjoying mine.

Congratulations on your purchase. You won't regret it. It has enough "things to do" to keep your interest as well and that work just makes it yours when you are done.

Thanks for all the kind words. Poorsha that is not snow in the background, thank god and I'm located in Vestal, NY.
As far as color of the car is concerned, I've attached the paint code from the original window sticker. Could somebody translate it since google has nothing on it

Vancouver86/911, exactly how I see it too. Just enough work to keep me busy over the winter.

Those codes look like interior color code for seats and carpet. Is your carpet grey.

Can you post a little lower from the rear? That's a long tip! Thanks.

Are you looking to go Monty on your car?

I actually have a 1 in 1 out but haven't installed it due to some minor fitment issues. I just wanted to see how your tip fit but obviously SSIs are going to have a very different mounting point than mine.

Congratulations, beautiful color! It looks quite similar to mine, although perhaps a little darker. My color looks vary different on cloudy days or certain lights. Mine is called "Burnt Sienna Metallic." At least, that's what Dr. Colorchip called it when I sent them my paint code. It sounds pretentious...

SC's are the best, enjoy and good luck on your many miles and adventures in and out of the garage.
