Funny incident Saturday morning in my 911...

I pulled up to a stoplight in my freshly washed car. To my left is a 20-something couple in a late model Mustang with huge exhaust, lowered. You know the car.

Well, the girlfriend elbows her boyfriend and points to my car. He shakes his head dismissively. Now she rolls down her window and absolutely gushes "I LOVE your car!" Boyfriend immediately rolls up her window. I thought I'd die laughing.

The light turns green, he lights 'em up and bolts through the intersection.

I started to think about this. I am a 44 year old in a 20 year old car. The girl was definitely interested in the car, not me. If that guy doesn't want to lose that girl, he might consider an old 911 SC. (Muahahahaha) The plot has many angles.

There is a commercial kind of similar to your story but with a nice twist. I am not sure if I saw it here in the US or in France, but in the ad a guy with a hot g/f pulls up in a muscle car next to a cute little car. For some reason they get into a drag race with the hot girl as the starter. Guy in muscle car peels out while the the guy in the hatchback sits in place and the girl gets in his car and they leave together.

Your story is great. I hope for the guy's sake that the girl was his sister.

It's a commercial for the new T-bird. I think.

The commercial you mention is for the new Ford Thunderbird. And I believe the exotic sportscar (whose owner loses the girl) is a Lotus Esprit.

What's the deal with Mustang owners...same thing happened to me!!
After I got my car back from the body shop freshly painted Speed Yellow about 3 months ago, I was at a light by my house and this couple in a convertible Mustang GT pulled up next to me. The girl put the window down and said: "You wanna trade?"
I said :" No thanks"!!

Hi Moses,

I saw 'your Mustang' myself a couple of months ago. You know...the burgundy one with the trick exhaust installed (proudly displaying the 'stickers' in the rear window...classssss). Anyway, he predictably lights them up next to me as I drive off normally. As I approach a particular hill up the road (downhill) with a series of exciting twists and s-curves, I step it up to make pace with the guy. He speeds up a little as we approach the hill...dropping now into 3rd, I keep right next to him giving him every opportunity to speed away as we start into the curves. No? Bye bye...

Note to Mustang owners - a little humility might suit you...

Pick your battles!

Regards,

Ryan

Driving through slow traffic during Spring Break. Got the roof down, the tunes playing and the jet engine (930) on idle.

Honda with flashy rims, big spoiler (does that do anything on a Honda?), bright paint job and full of young girls pulls up along side. The passenger rolls down her window and pants, "I LOVE YOUR CAR".

I had to inform my wife, who was sitting next to me, "She loves the car hon... not me... it happens all the time." Even so I don't think my wife was too happy. Who knows what sort of twisted things happen when I am driving by myself?

Ba-Ha-Ha!

Chris,

You remember when I took your car for the spin in the GA mtns last Sunday?

I forgot to mention the van I passed - carrying the Victoria's Secrets models (on the way to a photo shoot, I'm sure). They thought the turbo cab I was driving looked sweet!

I think I forgot to tell them it wasn't mine

I had quite a personally satisfying one the other day also. I was crawling along in traffic and saw an extremely good-looking tall blonde, mid twenties looking female (you know the sort) coming out of a building so I smiled and she smiled. A minute later I was stopped at the lights and she was standing next to the car and she said to her guy friends in a slightly exaggerated tone "I just love that car" as she looked me in the eye. Whohoo, it worked for me so I just sat there smiling back at her, her smiling at me, and the guys looking disapprovingly at the car and me. But a short while later I came to my senses and realised everyone else had driven off and the cars behind me were tooting so had to go

Angry

Hey Chris, what color is that Honda? Wonder if my daughter was in it. I have 3 Hondas and a spoiler will not make any of them faster.

Hey Mike, I didn't see the Victoria Secret's models. Only car I saw and passed in Chris' turbo was a Buick Century w/ a 90 y/o lady....and she gave me the finger.

Evil, pure and simple. Evil from the 8th dimension. The Victoria's Secrets models? Now that is just plain cruel.

By the way, while you were gone a busload of grannies were looking over your red Targa. They seemed disappointed you weren't there to take them for a spin.
