Does your MSD buzz?

Installed the MSD 6al in the 930, attached it to the firewall. The firewall dooesn't have any soundproofing on it.

Now, with the car running, at a stop, I hear an audible buzzing from behind the seat. Never heard this before.

Searched the internet, some folks say this is normal, some say it isn't. It is loud enough to hear in the cabin, and the 930 motor isn't exactly quiet. I don't hear it in the engine bay (motor and exhaust are noisy though).

Do these things buzz? For those of you that mounted it under the seat, can you hear it?

Can't really say since mine is mounted in the standard position.

Try mounting it on some rubber grommets?

Its on the grommets :). Does it usually buzz, and folks just don't notice it because its in the engine bay?

I have several MSD 6al's and they all make an audible sound, somewhat less than a BOSCH CDI, but I can hear every one mounted inside the cabin and my ears are not new.

Ok, sounds like its normal.

I looked at the MSD site, they take 1-2 weeks to reply to a message.

I am just suprised it is audible. Really haven't heard anyone mention on this site that they buzz/whine...

FYI, when I installed mine earlier this year I called them to resolve a question I had on my install. Live customer support was good.

How about an MSD streetfire? Does that one buzz? Mine does not and I wonder if that is normal. And since the car will not start, I may have messed up the connections...MSD streetfire owners please let me know.

Right as rain.

Mine is under the driver's seat. Just went out and checked it. Nothing when key is "on". Running, head down by floor pan, there is a very fast, almost clicking-like noise. Not a whine. More of a click based buzz.

I cannot hear it when driving. But my butt is pretty large.
