Great - did the factory use washers as shims or some type of body shim? Thanks!

I imagine special order. I have a few sets from dismantling cars but am holding onto them. They are rare, I guess get lost easily and then washers are used.
Part # for rear deck spacer is 999.025.098.02, 13A in the PET diagram. ![]()

The majority of hoods and rear decklids I've investigated have washers used as shims. I wasn't aware that there was a specific non-washer factory shim part - but then again my cars are not concours original class winners!

Thank you!
Thanks for this information! I just bought an 86 911 and noticed the decklid was rubbing against the body. Even after adjusting it didn't fix the issue until I came across this thread. Now I have two small washers on the rear bolts between the lid and the supporting brace and everything lines up correctly.

I couldn't find those shims in the PET the other day, so I ended up using zinc coated square washers out of McMaster-Carr.

I cut washers into a U shape (Well - an O with a chunk missing) so they can slide in. That makes the fitting process easier than pulling a bolt all the way out.
