reat torsion bar removal

Kurt V shamed me Saturday into lowering my SC. Today when I pried the rear locating arm out to remove it from the outer splines of the torsion bar, instead of separating, the bar & arm came out of the carrier's inner splines as one piece & so far has resisted any attempts to move. Any ideas?

Drill a 1/4" hole in the center of the cap on the arm. Get some good rust penetrant and squirt it in there. Let it sit overnite, give it a few good bangs on the pavement. If it doesn't pull out, then pop the cap off the bar, save it for reinstall. Support the arm on the bench and whack the center of the torsion bar. Deftly side step the bar as it comes flying out, so as to not injure your feet/ ankles. Clean the splines thoroughly on the arm and torsion bar and grease. Reinstall cap- you can stake it in place - add a little epoxy for insurance. Good Luck
