Shipping Bumper?
Trying to get a rough idea on how much it would cost to ship a rear bumper cap and valance - anyone have any recent numbers, please? Also, any tips on how to package: U-Haul boxes perhaps? Thanks.

Not sure if this would help. I bought a bumper from CA here on PP. Seller used Greyhound and I picked it up at their station in Newark, NJ. If I recall, seller charged me something like $50-$60 for the cost of the greyhound from LA to NJ. He bubble wrapped it and just had cartons on both ends of the bumper and the valance.
Just drop it off to the nearest Greyhound bus station and tell them what station buyer is picking it up. Here is what I got from Greyhound

I'll 2nd Greyhound.
Shipped a pair of SSI exchangers and a stock muffler from CA to NY. Canadian buyer drove down and picked up from bus station. Shipping was under $100.00 and they got there in 5 days. I was very skeptical initially, but very easy and WAY cheaper than the regular routes. Also safer as the packages are hand carried from bus to bus at transfers. My $.02, Cooper |

I had one shipped, 1970T, in perfect condition, from Colorado to Maryland, UPS, for around $200. Packed in a large narrow box . Costly, yes, but no worries. Steve

Bicycle shipping boxes work great for large items and bike shops give them away. They are nice heavy cardboard.
Grey hound is the way to go for large items

I've used Greyhound for several large items. Most recent was a bumper from Ohio to Colorado. about $80, and was probably faster than UPS (2 days). No issues to date with the bus.

I bought a hood for my frunk on PP from the northeast. Shipped via greyhound. I remember getting some calls and a little confusion from greyhound, but it showed up in good shape. I'm in a smaller town, so had to meet the bus late at night, but small hassle. I bought it over a year ago and fitted it this week. Looks pretty good! Time for paint!

You can try Fedex as well. They will also wrap it up(at no charge) I shipped a front spoiler to CT from NJ and the total cost(insured for $1k) was $17.00. Certainly yours will be higher due to weight but it may not be as high as you think.
